OVHcloud’s October 1 public-cloud pricing change separates local storage and IPv4 charges from B3, C3 and R3 instance compute prices. The company described the change in an August 25 notice, including total increases of 1.4% to 21.9% for otherwise identical configurations. OVHcloud October pricing update.
This is an October billing development, not an announcement made today. The compute component remains unchanged, while the additional billing lines change what a customer pays for the complete configuration.
Compare the complete configuration
The notice lists local low-latency storage at €0.0001458 per GB per hour and IPv4 at €0.0027 per hour, excluding tax. Monthly estimates depend on the hours used; they should not be treated as a universal fixed monthly surcharge.
Our assessment is that a useful comparison must include storage size, addresses and running time alongside compute. Savings-plan discounts apply to the compute component, so multiplying the entire bill by the advertised compute discount would misstate the result.
Check the new line items
The immediate test is the invoice for a known configuration after the change. Over time, buyers can compare complete workload cost with configurations that use different storage and address requirements. The change makes individual components clearer, but that visibility should accompany a total-cost comparison rather than a claim that the unchanged compute rate preserves the old bill.
